Last November and December (2024) we took two trips in Peru and Argentina. The Peruvian travel was merely a one day excursion up a canyon to 11,000 ft elevation near Lima. The other was a 13 day driving trip in northwestern Argentina to revisit cacti habitats we had visited various times in the past. A novel aspect of the Argentinean travel was our effort to observe insects, mostly at night with the aid of ultraviolet lights. This is a relatively new interest of ours.
